Dental veneers are a thin layer of porcelain that’s bonded over the front of your natural teeth. The benefit or main purpose of veneers is to mask unattractive teeth, transforming aged, dark or worn-down teeth into a new smile.
They are similar, a veneer covers part of the tooth and a crown covers the whole tooth. Crowns are useful when part of the tooth is broken down and needs to be replaced.
If you are self-conscious about your teeth and don’t smile confidently then veneers are a cost-effective solution for a new smile. They can transform your entire appearance and confidence as a result. A very fast way as only 3 steps are required.
At the aligner fit we often give all the aligners, so you can change them each week. We like to see all our patients at least 2-3 times in the process over the average 6-month period.
Your dentist will help you decide at the appointment but a good way to estimate is to see how many teeth are in your aesthetic zone, the number of teeth you see when smiling. Usually this is 6 or 8 teeth.
No we use local anaesthetic, the exact same we use for routine fillings.
No. Our material technology allows us to be very conservative with tooth structure removal. Our skilled dentists remove only the thickness of the veneer or crown which ranges from 0.3-1.5mm. In some cases, no tooth structure has to be removed
Veneers and crowns are more durable, more resistant to stains and have a brighter more solid colour than composite. There are clear benefits when compared to composite especially on darker or broken-down teeth.
In most cases we are able to get complete alignment as well as the bright white smile.
Usually after the consultation we need two appointments.
One for work on the teeth and to fit the temporaries. The colour, shape, style and size is also chosen together.
The second appointment is for veneer fitting, the veneers are fixed to the teeth, everything is cleaned shaped and polished.
